Golf as it should be!

The Beach Golf Society

The Beach Golf Society holds regular competitions at The Beach Golf Course from Easter to September.

----------------------------------

The final competition of the year was held on Sunday 7th September. Seventeen players took part in the 18 hole stableford.

The  weather was kind after a dreadful week of heavy rain. Sunny spells and just a gentle breeze, the soft ground made the course play longer than usual though.

The winner was Mat Durkan with 32 points with Andrew Brooks in second with 30 points. John Reilly and Keeft Samuels tied third on 29 points.

Mat also won the nearest the pin on the 5th hole with John Reilly nearent the pin on the 11th.

On Thursday 14th August we held our August Stableford. The competition was held over 9 holes in sunny but breezey conditions.

Martin Meek  was the winner with 17 points. Last months winner John Reilly came in second despite having his handicap slashed!

Three players shared 3rd place Ben Elliot, Mat Durkan and Andrew Brooks.

Winner Martin Meek & 2nd John Reilly

The wind proved too tricky on the 7th for the nearest the pin contest with all 12 competitors missing the green.

The perseverance prize ( 12 golf balls donated  by Keeft ) went to I.Owen.

July Stableford Report

Due to bad weather the competition on 31st July was reduced to 9 holes. John Reilly was the winner with 17 points. Second with 16 points was David Henshaw. John also won the nearest the pin on the 6th hole.

The perseverance prize ( donated by John Reilly ) was awarded to Nick Durkan.
